What is a mushroom tincture?
A mushroom tincture is a concentrated liquid extract made using water and alcohol to draw out naturally occurring compounds from functional mushrooms. This process allows the liquid extract to contain both water-soluble and alcohol-soluble components from the fruiting body.
How do I use mushroom tinctures?
Most people take the recommended dose under the tongue or mix it into water, tea, coffee or smoothies. Daily use at a consistent time helps build a steady routine. It also depends on the mushroom tincture(s) you're taking. Many customers prefer taking Lion's Mane, Cordyceps and Chaga in the morning and Reishi in the evening.
Always follow the guidance on the bottle and check with a professional if you're pregnant, nursing or taking medication.
How are mushroom tinctures different from powders or capsules?
Tinctures and liquid drops are already in liquid form, making them easy to mix into drinks and often quicker to absorb than powders or capsules. They also contain alcohol-soluble compounds that may not appear in other formats.
We have made a tough decision to not sell any mushroom capsules or powders. Tinctures are just so much better all round that we can't stay true to our values of providing the best quality and service if we don't focus on our tincture products exclusively.
At Mogo Farm, we are focusing on spreading the mushroom love and continuing the tincture revolution.
How should I store mushroom tinctures?
Store your mushroom tincture in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Keep the bottle sealed when not in use to retain the tincture's potency and longevity.
Are Mogo Farm tinctures made from fruiting bodies or mycelium?
We use 100% fruiting bodies only - never mycelium on grain or filler material, so you can rest assured that what you are consuming is entirely functional mushroom.
We don't believe in adding growing mediums such as grain, as this not only reduces the potency but also increases the amount of starch. Using fruiting body ensures our mushroom tinctures are as potent as possible.
Why is alcohol used in the extraction process?
Alcohol helps dissolve certain compounds that hot water can't alone extract, such as triterpenes and phenolic compounds. Using both alcohol and water creates a full-spectrum extract with broader range of natural constituents.
Are Mogo Farm tinctures lab tested?
Yes. Every batch is independently tested by accredited third-party laboratories to verify purity, potency and microbiological safety.
Do Mogo Farm share Certificates of Analysis (COAs)?
Absolutely. Every batch of mushroom tinctures we make is independently tested by accredited third party laboratories to verify the safety and purity of our products. We provide Certificate of Analysis (COAs) for all our tinctures, and you may request them anytime by getting in touch with our team.
Are Mogo Farm tinctures ingredients safe?
We only use high quality, UK grown mushroom fruiting bodies pure extraction ingredients (alcohol and purified water). Our mushroom tinctures are free from fillers, preservatives, additives, flavourings and grain-based material. All batches go through independent testing for safety and quality.
